Don Herbel's Zenith CH701 STOL

I completed my Zenith CH701 STOL on June 30, 2012 after 7 1/2 years from starting construction. Dubbed "Blue," her colors and name were inspired by my favorite flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels. I read Ron Alexander's book and painted her myself (except for the fuselage). I also upholstered the seats after reading three how-to articles in Kitplanes. Phase 1 flight test was completed on Nov.21. N848DH is powered by a Rotax 912ULS.

  1. Don...Great Job! She's Beautiful. (I'd like to know if you are the same guy who pinned me on my very 1st 30 sec. Skydive into the Silver Saddle Saloon in the 70's.?) Eddie Hunter (eX Skiatook Outlaw)
