Kitplanes Visits the Rotax Factory

rotax-factory-tour-snipWith the 912 iS and new iS Sport engine, Rotax is making gains with new products. Reporting for KITPLANES, Paul Bertorelli visited the factory last summer and produced this video explaining how the engines are built.

Hmmmm, let's see, the entire engine management system is brand new, has already been changed nearly completely(from iS to Sport)in a very short period of time, and there aren't very many flying yet....but Rotax, in all of it's usual wisdom, places an entirely un-realistic TBO of 2000 hours on it---all whilst charging $10.000++ more for it than it's already seriously over priced 912 ULS version.....really?? Just what the already pathetic, over charging LSA field needs--an even more price inflating, totally unproven option! YAY!! I love being a guinea pig, don't you 😉
