Hastings deviated from Cirrus’ plans only three times. The first is a hinged engine access door to speed maintenance. The second is using a single, larger cooling fan instead of two smaller fans (works better), and three, he’s slowly engineering a belt-driven Vortech centrifugal supercharger for the big Continental. So far he’s machined the flywheel pulley and mounting system and is working on pressure-sensing injectors.
