Jack Gonzenbach of Heart of America Aviation LLC is the new North American distributor for CAMit aircraft engines out of Australia. CAMit engines are an off-shoot and updated version of the popular Jabiru LSA engine.

And when we say Gonzenbach is the new distributor, we do mean new, as in the last three weeks. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, Gonzenbach's Heart of America is expecting its first shipment of engines, service parts and other basics from CAMit’s Australian headquarters shortly.

[sc:ad180]Some of CAMit's improvements to the design are more robust metallurgy in the cylinder heads for greater durability, improved cylinder base flanges, revised flywheel retention and case half sealing.

Heart of America Aviation can be reached at or (913) 890-3052.

  1. There's a whole lot more to the CAMit (CAE) engine than just the changes noted. CAMit have 9 years of research and development undertaken while making Jabiru engines under licence, and under the apparent Jabiru 'skin' the CAE engine is very considerably different ( and is recognised by CASA, the Australian airworthiness authority, as NOT being a 'Jabiru' engine.

A visit to the CAMit website is recommended:

  2. I've been running a CAMIT 3300 aero engine for over a year now in Australia powering my J430 4 seat Jabiru and have nothing but great things to say about it. I have the CAMIT high-output alternator which works well and I'm running a solid 3 blade carbon ground adjustable prop. Super smooth and reliable and none of the issues that I had with my old Jabiru engine. I'm monitoring this engine with an MGL TC03 12 channel CHT/EGT and temperatures are excellent. The customer service from CAMIT has been exemplary and I would recommend this engine to anyone in the market for a reliable new engine.
