N200HL started life as a KitFox Lite kit. The engine is a Rotax 503 with a 3.47:1 reduction. The motor mount, carbon full cowl and the gear legs with coil spring absorption are all original designs. Mounted to the 503 is a 70" Warp Drive 3-blade prop and spinner.
Standard-grade aircraft tires with hydraulic disc brakes were installed over the original ultralight style wheels and mechanical drum brake set-up. Light weight fiberglass wing tips were designed and built.
The fuselage aft of the cockpit was modified with stringers for a faired effect. A steerable tailwheel and modified horizontal stabilizer to include an airfoil profile has been incorporated as part of the performance improvement package. In order to hedge against the increased gross, carbon webs were installed in the spar tubes at the lift strut attach points.
Paint is Stewart system with minimal coats. A lithium battery is used to save weight and space. Empty weight is 367 lb. Takeoff is very quick and climb is 800 fpm at 45 mph for a 9+ degree angle. Cruise is a leisurely 55 mph.
While officially registered as a DAL01, locally known as a KitFox Notsolite.
The plane is a joint project between Dave Leedom and Matt Hlavac (Breezy N5150, Kitplanes October 2009). First flight was 4 July 2017.
