Zenith Trailer Kit

Zenith, the popular airplane kit company, is testing the waters for interest in what would be a travel trailer kit to be made with construction techniques similar to those used to build their popular 700 series utility airplanes.

At this time there are no pricing or delivery dates available. They are just trying to gauge interest in the concept.

The trailer box is 15' x 8', with an overall length of 18 feet. The prototype has no interior, but interior finishing kits could be a possibility of the project get the go ahead.

When he isn’t building something, he shares his love of aviation with others by flying Young Eagles or volunteering as an EAA Technical Counselor. He is also an A&P mechanic, Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR), and a member of the EAA Homebuilt Aircraft Council.

  1. Yes, please forward my serious interest to Zenith for their travel trailer kit!...has the Airstream trailer look. I finished my Sonex last year and need a new project!

  2. If a kit boat company (Chesapeake Light Craft) can successfully launch a teardrop camper kit, why shouldn’t an airplane company be able to do the same?

  3. I am a red hot prospect for a Zenith trailer kit. I’m retired and would love to build a kit with Zenith quality and build ability.

  4. I just saw this camper at the EAA convention, and I am very interested in seeing what kind of interior ideas the company comes up with. It would be a fun winter project to assemble.

  5. Great project idea Sebastian, and no pilot license required. Seriously this should go big since most are now building out of wood.

  6. I am very interested in the proposed camper. I currently have a motor home which is now too large. I want a car towable Camper so that I have local transportation on a trip. I am currently flying a homebuilt.
