Desser Tire & Rubber Company has just introduced its new line of ultimate backcountry Tundra tires. The first iteration in a series of new tire releases is the Aero Classic LSA/Experimental 8.50-6 4 ply rating smooth tire.
This tire has essentially the same dimensions as the TSO 850-6 tires that are in use currently, but is rated at 4 ply, instead of 6, and has a smooth tread profile, which is designed not to pick up pebbles and rocks, and damage the skin of the aircraft, and is highly deflected to absorb larger river rocks and gravel. This new tire incorporates a tube, and will be one of the lightest size tires in its class, and has a high speed rating of 120 mph.

Belite Aircraft's new ProCub Lite looks and feels like a nostalgic J3 Cub, but flies under FAR Part 103 ultralight aircraft rules. Powered by a traditional 4-stroke engine or a water-cooled 2-stroke engine with gear reduction, the aircraft is typically airborne in about 200 feet, or perhaps even 100 feet with a nice breeze. Landing distances are similar.
Sensenich Propeller's long-anticipated adjustable composite propeller for the Lycoming O-360 is now available. The propeller carries no rpm range restrictions and was specifically designed for Van's RV models 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The prop is also suitable for other high-performance homebuilts that regularly travel in the 150-215 mph range, including the Wittman Tailwind, Mustang II and Thorpe T-18.
Owners of all Glasair Aviation aircraft are now united under one builders and owners association: the Glasair Aircraft Owners Association. The expanded group includes the low-wing Glasair models and the high-wing GlaStar and Sportsman, whether built from a kit or in the Two Weeks to Taxi program at the manufacturer's facility in Arlington, WA.
The Glasair is an all-composite fast airplane that frequently makes headlines at the Reno Air Races, while the Sportsman and GlaStar have a folding metal wing, a steel cage and composite fuselage and are well-suited for back-country strips as well as floats and cross country flying.
