Garmin announced several new additions to the Garmin Pilot™ feature set for Apple and Android mobile devices. Among the updates, wireless real-time display and play-back of engine data is available within Garmin Pilot via Flight Stream 510 when the app is paired with an EIS-capable TXi flight display or the G1000® NXi integrated flight deck. A new document viewer provides easy access to the Garmin aviation library, as well as access to popular cloud storage providers, and the addition of weather improvements further enhance the app. New for Android, weight and balance calculations and several more features aid in flight planning. These new capabilities offer greater utility within a single application and more integration within the Garmin ecosystem. Garmin adds FIS-B weather compatibility

Garmin announced future product compatibility with the new FIS-B weather products available through the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) ground station network in the United States. Once the ground station network is established to broadcast these new FIS-B weather products, pilots will be able to access them within the Garmin Pilot™ application on Apple mobile devices using Garmin receivers that support ADS-B In. Garmin announces new 2018 classroom pilot training classes

Garmin announced expanded pilot training opportunities for 2018 to include additional classes throughout the United States. Instructor-led training classes are available for the GTN 650/750 touchscreen navigator series, the G500/G600 glass flight display systems, and all Garmin Integrated Flight Decks. Supplemental eLearning opportunities are also available, and additional training for the G500 TXi/G600 TXi and G3X Touch series will be added later in the year. These new training opportunities and locations provide pilots with varying levels of experience a hands-on approach to learning Garmin avionics in a classroom environment taught by experienced certified flight instructors. Garmin GDL 52 all-in-one portable ADS-B and SiriusXM

Garmin GDL-52Garmin's all-in-one GDL 52 portable aviation receiver is now available, the company says. The GDL 52 is the first portable receiver capable of receiving Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) weather and dual-link, as well as SiriusXM Aviation weather1 and audio for display and control on select portables and mobile devices. It includes a built-in battery and provides GPS position data as well as back-up attitude information2 to compatible portable devices.
