Garmin announced the addition of new capabilities and enhancements for the popular GTN 650/750 touchscreen navigators. New GTN features include visual approach guidance, control and display of the GTX 3000 transponder and GTS 8000 Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS II)/Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS II), as well as LNAV+V approaches without Space-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) service. Garmin has introduced a new trainer app for the iPad2. This app, downloadable from the iTunes store, simulates the behavior of the GTN 750 GPS/nav/com system interface and provides pilots with a safe way to learn the basic operation of the system on the ground.

Garmin International Inc. and Jeppesen have announced a new bundle pricing program for databases on select Garmin panel-mount avionics that provides a more affordable single-aircraft pricing structure and simplifies the database purchase process by offering a one-stop shop experience, the company says.
PilotPak provides all the databases within the selected package to be used with any combination of GTN, G600, G500, G500H and G3X installed in one aircraft for a single annual price. Each bundle option includes Garmin’s popular SafeTaxi, and Obstacle, Terrain and Airport Directory.
